Glenn Walters is teaching faculty in the Department of Applied Physical Sciences at UNC Chapel Hill and is the director of the BeAM Design Center, a design and fabrication facility that specializes in the development of unique tools and instrumentation for research. He is also a founding member of the UNC BeAM Makerspace Executive Committee and the senior technical advisor to BeAM. Glenn holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences and Engineering and is a licensed professional engineer. He shares his time between design and making of things for other people, teaching others how to design and make, creating solutions that are looking for problems, and forcing 3D printers, lasers, etc. to do things that they don’t want to do.
